Easy to apply and makes the rust turn a dark color. Only issues is it stays wet and doesn’t harden. When my dog goes under the truck he ends up with some on his back.

  2. Luis (verified owner)

I applied it under my van a month ago, and I can see the layer stuck to all surfaces I sprayed. I plan to apply it every year. We’ll see how it holds up after the first winter. I only wish there were a dealer in my city.

I first came across Rust Cure On a weekend visit to a Kingston Canadian Tire. My first use was on a Maytag washer. It has a badly corroded corner due to a small pinched tube leading from the bleach dispenser and out of sight at the rear of the washer when I discovered the severe damage. Knowing the machine was on borrowed time I treated the terribly perforated metal and threaded balance support with Rust Cure. That was over ten years ago, without Rust Cure in a damp basement it would have eventually collapsed or worse.

I’ve been using this for 10 years on my Mustang, The underside still looks new. Best of all….bolts come off easier. I tend to buy the cans and respray myself. TSC/Peavey Mart sells this as well, and it goes on sale about once a month. Sticks great on steel or metal, not so good on plastic (but you don’t need it there), so it will drip a touch if you spray there.

This is pricey but we will see how it does on the lawnmower and tractor.

    Awesome stuff!!!!

  9. Robert Kroupa (verified owner)

Love the stuff- went to CA to Sudbury for a car show years ago and think we won a can as a prize- been buying since-

  10. James (verified owner)

Went on very easily, no runs or drips. A little more oily than I expected, but just wipe it off after it soaks in a while. Won’t know how it really performs for curing rust until it’s had more time in the weather.

Nice product. I would have purchased more had it not been for the cost of shipping.

  17. James Schubring

Fantastic Product!!! Sprays out great with excellent coverage and it starts working on contact. I used it to supplement the tighter reach areas when undercoating my truck as I get it ready for another snowy (and salty) winter. I also used it on the underside of my car hauler trailer and the spray can had enough punch in the can to shoot the product from one side of the trailer to the other when I was lying beneath it. One can lasted longer than what I would have expected and indonthe entire bottom with a bit over 2 cans. Great stuff!

  18. Charlie (verified owner)

Looking forward to doing business with you in the near future. great service and support. Thank you!

  19. darren lewis (verified owner)

one can was un-useable due to the top (actual spray nozzle) being broken off in the can. But I had 2 cans. the other one worked great. this stuff really is good.

This stuff stops rust from spreading and prevents rust from forming. I absolutely love this product.

  26. Jeffrey (verified owner)

sprayed inside rockers and dripped out all over driveway, maybe I sprayed too much?
But i found an excellent use to not waste the product!!!
I smothered the sun beaten 20+ year old windshield cowl trim and it added lustre while beading some rain water off, I have pics.

How long will this last on the exterior plastic?

    • Sarah Duncan (store manager)

Thanks Jeffrey for your review. Just a thin layer is all that is needed, if it is applied too generously, the excess product cannot hold on and can drop off. Our product is great for conditioning those exterior plastic pieces, it will last between 3-6 months. If you ever have a chance to give Nut Z Lube a try it is great for that purpose as it is lighter duty product, not as thick.

  30. Demian (verified owner)

Excellent corrosion inhibitor. Clear, thick consistency (although the formula in the tub is thicker but that’s understandable. Rattle cans always have a thinner formula but still thicker than Krown or Rust Check, about the same as Fluid Film in a rattle can), stays on for a long time. Blocks oxygen and water. No oxygen or water, means no rust. I used quite a bit on my two new trucks. I got into the frame and rocker panel holes and really applied a generous amount inside. This is my second year applying the product. First year was done professionally by a Corrosion Free dealer. It held up great. No smell, no drip. Had my GM wax on my frame peel off on me a little driving in heavy rain, exposing raw metal, I covered the area with Rust Cure and so far I don’t see any rust on the surface. The fact that the product is clear is part of the reason for choosing it. I like to see what’s happening underneath the product. Rust proofing is a must. Undercarriage pressure washes just won’t wash off the brine and road salt. I’ve tried other brands in the past, but Rust Cure seems to perform the best for me. Just remember to reapply every 12-18 months. I crawl under the trucks every few weeks just to check on it and it stays on well. I highly recommend this product.

After the border inspection sent me the wrong package, Chad graciously resent another case of Rust Cure. (no charge) Fantastic customer service!!!! When I got the correct package, I sprayed the underside of my rider mower. There were a couple of scratches with surface rust and within a minute of applying the rust was starting to dissolve!!! The only thing I wasn’t aware of was that it doesn’t dry. This will collect grass and dirt when I start using the mower but hopefully make the year end cleanup easier. (as it won’t be sticking to the mower deck) All in all I’m impressed with the product and will buy again when I run out!

Love the product! Easy to apply, and provides great protection from winter moisture and salt. Ordered a case, and had it at my front door within days.

My first experience with this interesting product. Sprays on well, better than expected coverage. Seems to be creeping already. Definitely don’t spray where you will have to touch later, it stays slimy.

I read great reviews of this product online and it did not disappoint. The guys at my local garage applied it to the underbody of my car and they really appreciated that it was odorless and dripless. I noticed immediate improvements in the car’s handling, and I can see that its gel-like substance is sticking, even after several weeks of heavy driving and winter snow. I’m re-applying this next year!

  47. David Jones (verified owner)

This is an excellent product! Works fantastic!

I’ve been using Formula 3000 on my class B camper RV. We use the camper year round so I wanted to protect the chassis & metal components as well as cables, valves and other undercarriage items.
    I agree! Worth every penny!!

  49. Joseph Liptak Jr

This stuff is great. I bought a 2014 GMC Truck used that was already beginning to rust after being only a year old (GM Quality). I had a local shop spray my undercarriage and when I got home I hit all the places with two cans of this stuff. My truck stopped rusting after using this product. I have tried them all over the years and hands down, this product is tops. If you have a vehicle that you want to keep after paying it off then I recommend that you have it treated with Formula 3000. Its worth every dime you spend. It has more benefits than rustproofing but you’ll figure that out. It’s clean, odorless, and doesn’t harm the vehicle or environment.

This is an excellent product. The fact that it is clear and semi permanent means that a new or collectible vehicle will not look terrible after application. In fact the glossy nature of the product makes painted and plastic parts look better. I was initially concerned that the product might collect dirt over time, but this has not been the case. It does not smell or feel toxic in any way. The vehicle becomes easier to service as fasteners do not seize in place with corrosion. Many of the vehicle mechanisms actually work better after application. Unlike other products it will not ruin painted surfaces or strip any waxes or detailing finishes from them.

In testing this product over the years it is better than penetrating oil for freeing rusted fasteners and keeping them movable. On rusted areas, the corrosion stops.

The product resists being washed away by heavy rain and high speed driving.

The product will prevent the vehicles sacrificial coatings from being expended by salts. After over ten years of use, my vehicles and equipment look as if they have no wear due to corrosion.

This is an easy to work with product that will save you money in the long term. If you or your installer take the time to apply this product to every surface and interior space and cavity, rust will never be an issue regardless of climate.

Great spray product. The whole can is applied, something a lot of spray products fall short of.
Using the spray cans to touch up after a shop sprayed the truck, and will now spray the snow plow and mounts.
Corrosion Free has good reviews, and I plan on coating once a year.

Bought a couple cans of Rust Cure in the spray cans when I had my Jeep done. This stuff is remarkable. Not only protects but is also a rust penetrant. My wife couldn’t get the lawn mower height adjusters to move so she sprayed the adjusters with Rust Cure. She tried the adjusters the next day and found them free and easy to move. I spray rams and anything movable on AG equipment that is stored outside over the winter and in the Spring, they’re free to move effortlessly.

Perhaps 5 or 6 years ago, my wife opened the (rarely used) man door of our attached garage.
She told me that the door was opened about 3/4, but would not close or open any further.
I tried moving it, but it was seized completely.
I actually broke 2 or 3 of the screws holding the hinges to the door casing. Not good. Of course rain was expected that afternoon.
I found a can of “Corrosion Free Rust Cure 3000” in the garage, I had never used it before but I had nothing to lose.
I liberally sprayed the 3 hinges and let the 3000 sit (and run) for a few moments. Then I tried to move the door.
It slowly started to free up, so I sprayed some more and continued swinging the door further and further with each swing.
Within 10 minutes the door was totally free, so I replaced the broken screws and the door is still 100% functional.
    That stuff is crazy good.

This is a fine product. I live just north of Toronto, Canada where the winter weather can get nasty and play havoc on cars. This is especially true when there’s an abundance of salt and brine on the road that can quickly corrode metal. I noticed a little rust “staining” around some of the seams on my wife’s 2011 SUV, so I sprayed every seam, crevice, etc. I could access without a car lift or hoist. I have to try to get underneath to finish the job some day (brake lines, fuel lines…). Your Rust Cure Formula 3000 has definitely put a stop to the spreading of the little rust that existed on her vehicle in the first place, and actually seems to be reversing much of it.

By the way, there is a Corrosion Control study online done by the Canadian Military. In a nutshell, it concludes that Corrosion Free Formula 3000 ranks as the best rust inhibitor of all the ones they tested (nine in all). For anyone who’s interested in reading this 40- to 50-odd page study (in PDF format), it’s called “Review of Corrosion Control Programs and Research Activities for Army Vehicles.”

    I happily recommend this product!!!

    Great product
I use it for everything. It will lube anything you need it to
I use it on my 1993 honda civic and there is no rust anywhere on the car.
It is affordable and it creeps around everywhere with no drip’s
I would recommend it to anyone

(bought the other jug, but thought I would leave this here too)

I have no doubt this stuff sticks quite awhile. I really do enjoy how thick it is. Though I have not really seen too much effect on the rust itself, I have no doubt it halts any progress of the rust because of the thickness and material properties. (someone mentioned on a random forum that he saw a ton of white bubbles as it “ate” away the rust.; I can’t say I saw any immediate chemical reaction)

As one downside seems to be it’s a bit messy when applied by a newcomer to compressed air, painting setups. ?
I am however curious as to why you don’t supply a wand/extension set for the cheaper spray gun? I think that’s the only main thing I would say was disappointing overall.

The extreme upside as well which I don’t see you advertise is this.
I bought a vehicle in a crunch, it was decently rusty, EVERYWHERE. (I live in Iowa though, with constant salts on the roads in winter) I applied this stuff hoping it’ll help the frame last a few more years, heck, if I keep it covered maybe even more. The one beneficial oddity I found after applying the Rust Cure, was the amazing ride quality the vehicle has now. No kidding. And after thinking about it, it would make sense that an old rusty car would have a bit of a stiffer frame as it’s progressed with age. But now it feels almost like a new vehicle as I can only imagine bushings were rehydrated/conditioned, joints get an extra bit of lubricant to help mechanical movement (the steering feels a bit better too), and leaf springs actually have movement as before I would bet it was pretty tough to move, rust grinding on rust.

Anyways, just wanted to say there’s a selling point as well. I’m really impressed though!
